In Buddhism they have this belief of impermanence - the state or fact
of lasting for only a limited period of time. Life in our world is unstable, it has no shelter, no protection. We could die at any moment. So I guess that why I don't seek comfort in strangers. I push people away, as a means to cope. Impermanence and suffering is all I have to come home too. Everyone is great at giving advice - telling stories or criticing other people. Are we ever able to act on our own words? The very acknowledgement that we are unified only in our utter incomprehension of our own identity. We have nothing and are nothing, except each other. That's beautiful and terrifying and wonderful - all at the same time.

Strangehold is a collection of these thoughts condescended in unfinished demos and one takes. I have never tried to hide the flaws of these recordings. My whiny voice can be off-putting but as Funkadelic once said: Free yo mind and yo ass will follow.
